American Armageddon (get ready to read)
Posted: Mon Jun 19, 2006 12:10 pm12-13-11. Exactly 70 years sence two Eastern European counties declared war on the US. Exactly 7 years sence the capture of Saddam Hussein. These events, and many more, would be taken into account by the NSC (National Security Consol) in the months after this horrific month. It seemed like a normal day. The USS Boxer had just left for Pakistan when on of the radio attenai got clipped bay a helicopter, luckly there were no injuries. I got into the Bell OH-58A helicopter going back to harbor to get a replacement. The USS Boxer was a relitivly small aircraft carrier. It had several Jay Hawks, a Kiowa attack helicopter, two, non weaponized Kiowas, used for intre-ship transport, a M-505 troop transport, a CV-10T Cargobronc, and a V-22 Osprey. Once the Boxer got to Pakistan, the landing force on board would, along with the support of the choppers, set up a foreword command base for the up coming invasion. All of the was copletely classified, even to the crew. None of them knew where they were going.
Just as I was about to get to the dock for the replacement part, the chopper was rocked by a huge explosion. I looked over and saw in horror that The Freedom Tower was on fire. Within seconds, the building was collapsing. I could not belive it. Before I had time to react, a bunch of masked men in military fitigues armed with AK-47s stormed the harbor complex, catching all of the gaurds, who still hadn't prossed that the World Trade Center had been attacked again. Many of the NYPD officers had lost friends and partners in the last attack ten years ago. Luckely I pulled away just in time before the terrorists started shooting.
He radioed the Boxer, "USS Boxer, this is Sgt. Patterson. Shots fired, the Freedom tower has been bombed! Mobelize the Kiowa! Over!" "Rodger, Sgt. What exactly is going on?" "Upon reaching the harbor complex, a bomb went off at the freedom tower and armed militants stormed the complex! Over" "Okay, we are mobelizing the chopper, and we have contacted Homeland Security." "Rodger that" Just as I finished saying that, an RPG fly past the chopper, narrowly missing me. "Boxer, I am under RPG fire! Over!" "Just stay cool, and try to gain more altiture. You were trained for a situation like this, just not over New York suburbs." I managed to land on the Boxer with only minor damage to the helo.
After I told them what I saw during a teli-briefing with D.C. and Boston. Similar attacks had occured all over the East coast. In Boston, The John Handcock tower was the target. In D.C., the capitol building was the target. Luckely, it was still early in the mourning, so there were minimal casualties. We realized that the only safe spots were the airports, which were being defened by local units of the National Gaurd, and the islands that were not connected the the mainland by a bridge. The CO on board suggested be get as many ground troops on Ellis and Liberty Islands. I offered to do recon with the Kiowa.
Every one agreed, so I headed to the hanger the get the Kiowa on deck and took off.
