Money where mouth is.

The Lukla Challenge.
Someone suggested an attempt in the C130.

To make life a little easier I started at Lukla.

Bit of a problem here the C130 is a bit big ... just squeezes in. Clearence on the runway is a bit of a problem too .... ::)... but more of that later.

OOPPPSSS ...... where's the world gone ??? ??? :o :o
Image

Ahhhh there it is ...... looking rather small.
Image

Turning onto final ..... a little tight here. Approach speed 150kts.
Image

Stall onto the runway. Full flaps ..... reversers and speed brakes.
Down ......Only just!!! ..... there's probably a wingtip missing on the starboard side  there's only inches to spare and that's only if you land to the right of  the centreline. On or left of centreline and you wipe out several buildings including the tower.

give it a shot .....IF YOU DARE.

Scenery is great, well worth the dosh ...... I use FSGlobal SE mesh. The Lukla scenery adds its own mesh for the area of the airport so you get the sloping runway.

Very nice Eno, the scenery looks great. I'd imagine a Herc should be able to get in there in real life, they stop pretty quick.... but an airliner hmmm..... would like to see that...

I like landing heavies in the Altiports, but Lukla looks waay too hard to do the above mentioned activity...hey, Ozzy, been practising with the 225? :D

:o That is a very hard landing to make. I tried it once and ended up having to pull up before reaching the end of the runway.
