Rootbeer,
From your specs you should be able to handle some nice sceneries! 8)
Question: If I install the 38mt West Coast and Rockies mesh, will it conflict with or override the 9.1mt meshes of the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley?
No it will not conflict as higher elevation data will always "override" the lower.
For instance. I have Eddie Denney's 38 meter mesh of the entire United States. Then I have added things like The Grand Canyon 9meter mesh that "overrides" the 38meter in that section. Same goes for any mesh you add.
Mesh is something that will really give your Sim depth. It will raise mountains and lower valleys.
Add to it something like Ground Environment from Flight1 and your sim will really start to improve.
There are many adjustments that should be made to your machine to get it running smoothly. Tweaking a card and making some adjustments is just the beginning.
To get the most out of your machine, click on the FS-GS link in my sig. If you have no kids, not married and no debt ;D , it might be beneficial for you to use the service as now you will be ready to do anything you want!
There is a discussion going on over in the payware forum on some good "base" packages to get you started on adding things to your Sim.
