MD80 SCANDINAVIAN to LOWI pt2

Postby Nexus » Sun Apr 23, 2006 3:27 pm

Breaking left as we start to sink rather gentle from FL360 to FL95 (This aint the U.S...)

Into the valley we come from the east, with gear and flaps down

Circle-to-land rwy08

Final approach, making the last corrections. The EGPWS displays the high rising mountains surrounding the city of Innsbruck. Imagine flying into and out of this place with degraded visibility. Quite challenging...

Landing abit too far, considering the runway is rather short  :)

It's scandinavian ;)

I've gotten a few PMs about my payware threads and why I've quit posting. I havent quit, I'm just a busy man flying and trying to get out more  ;D
Anyway hope you like them, cheers 8)

WHAT?! When did SAS stop operating MD-80s to the US? :P

Excellent shots, I've heard a lot about Innsbruck ;)

Jakemaster: Search AVSIM for runway textures. Dont remember what mine is called, sorry =/

Beef: Innsbruck is awesome to fly into, IRL and in the sim! Thats how I get my "kicks", flying into unsual airports and still try to be as realistic as it get. Sadly (for me  ;D), most shots here are just people flying around and showing off their nice airplane. Something that I'm not really interesting in.

I love commercial ops, and I wish there were more members posting the same  :)

I have about 150 shots of day-to-day Delta 752 domestic flights (including flights to San Juan and St Maarten) that I have just sitting on my HD.  One day I'll resize them and get them up.

I'm glad there's ONE person here who I know won't lynch me for using A/P at any point other than cruise! ;D

Au contraire, beef  :)

Proper autopilot usage is an art. Requires more thinking and to be "ahead of the aircraft" around 50nm or so.

I usually laugh when people whines at members wanting to inquire about autoland how to's. Those people automaticly assumes that the person in question doesnt know how to fly and land the aircraft.
A/P isn't "cheating" as some ppl says, it's necessary in my flying.

Amen brother.  The worst kind are those who feel that if you use AP (or the big one is time compression) you're not a "real" pilot.  And they're talking about FS. ::) It's like it's not even worth it to respond to that. ;D

As you stated, using AP doesn't mean I'm playing with myself and waiting for the aircraft to touch down so I can taxi it in as it's often portrayed by some of our other members.  They're called precision/high-workload approaches for a reason. :)

While I enjoy the great technicality of your shots I think I must be one of those people who just fly their "pretty" planes around in their "pretty" scenery to my eternal shame I suppose.

Oh well I'll just have to live with my dysfunctional self.

Now where did I put those manuals? AP does that have something to do with Autopilot gee this is hard.

Does seem a rather sharp turn there for a final must have been a little tough on the passengers but they probably deserved it with all their "pretty" ideas.

But this is a screenshot forum. Maybe we could suggest that there be a "real pilots screenshot forum" so the experts could post there but...............

That turn just doesn't look quite right with a plane that size and that close to final. Is this pilot error?

Ohhhhhhhh now I understand you were just circling but isn't that a little low and close wouldn't you have to be a little further out?

If you were on hold where are the other planes wouldn't you be crossing their flight path?

But hey I just shoot pretty planes aimlessly flying around.

and the shots are not bad a little blurry and dull colors............ but nice.

Sorry for not pleasing the allmighty Ramsa.
I hope you understand how disappointed I must feel?
Perhaps this is a little better?

Please enlighten our fellow posters why you had such a  snorky attitude in your post above?
I'm sure we're all curious to know that.

I have a question, were you the only child in your family? You know those tend to be rather spoiled and selfish, with an ego bigger than Manhattan. Kind of like....yours!  ;D
