Carenado 206 - My Turn.......

Postby TSC. » Sat Apr 29, 2006 4:53 am

Wotcha chaps,

Just finished the first flight in my brand spanking new 206 - & I have to say, i'm a very happy camper this morning.

Just a short hop from Alaska Trophy Tours across Chatham Strait to camp F.

Just about to kick the engine into life:

We're away, unsticking from the ground for the first time:

Climbing out into the Alaskan morning:

Turning to head west, bound for ATT camp F, NDB freq 335.0:

The 'compression killed' VC - looking across Chatham Strait:

Lining up for Camp F - not the best landing ever, I turned to final too soon & was carrying more speed than I would've liked:

Just about to get the floats wet for the first time:

My 206 & another happy camper:

A thoroughly enjoyable flight.

The only problem I have is opening the passenger/cargo doors - E+1,2,3 etc doesn't seem to work & I can't for the life of me find a list of assignments anywhere. Looks like these campers will be going hungry for a while - don't tell me I left the key's back at base :-[

Cheers

Very Nice.

Where can I find this aircraft and the water textures?

I maintain a Cessna 185 that looks very similar and is operated on floats during the summer months.

Hi cdn,

The U206G is available at Carenado.com or Flight1.com. You may need the extension pack to get the Amphib, or you can just buy a 'full pack'.

The water textures are default M$.

Cheers,

LOL - I hadn't seen it for ages, but I've just re-installed FS9 & haven't got around to changing it again yet.

I guess I feel kinda stupid asking about the water textures.  Im using the default textures aswell, but I have never had refections like you do in shot #3.

What would you recommend for water textures?

Hi Mark,

Don't worry about the water question - I asked myself the same question after I'd done the re-install. The default textures looked ok, which is why I haven't bothered to change them again (yet).

Some popular water textures can be found here:

FS2004 New Water Effects by our very own Ashar.

FS2004 Dynamic Water Effects by Michael Woolsey.

Cheers,
