Hi, sorry if these are a bit boring but I just wanted to share the moment of my first carrier landing in FS :)

Noobmare!!!  :o  :o They did what they could, wisely clearing the decks of anything worth more than $1m.

Thank you God, thank you!!!! Now to navigate the closest path between this plane and the laundry.

Thought I'd finally try out the Flight Deck III package I won in the comp back in August, properly...well, more properly than before. Used the new revamped Cattaneo's F-14 even though it's on the forum a lot these days... it is the definitive carrier aircraft for me, and the paint, model and now flight model and sound are all top notch.

If I really start getting the hang of it I might have to buy the big E.... with it's better look and furniture...

Well, thanks for looking in!

First spring day in Brno today!!! Blue skies, warm weather....oh yeahhhh!!!

Mind you, makes it kind of hard to see the monitor when it's so sunny... :-[

Still, only 8 months to winter  :D

Thanks guys, looking forward to getting back to it tonight!

You know me better than I know myself ;) lol but I really did actually land it - 4 and 5 are cropped from the replay.

I didn't do it properly of course, with the HUD and lights and stuff, just hand flew her in, but still....feeling quite pleased with myself - fastest thing I'd got down on a carrier before was a C172 when flying with Clipper and Fozzer off San Francisco.

I have to say that the new flight model for the Tomcat works for me, find her very controllable at low speeds. Worth the 40mb download (there seem to be updated textures, sound, panels and stuff in there too....).

Nice landing Roger, next you have to get the An-225 on the deck ;) ;D

Now that is a bit trickier, getting it lined up and so on, but the computer will probably treat it as just another plane, right? It won't take account of mass etc I imagine. I'll give it a go sometime, but not till I've practiced a lot more with official denizens of the ocean skies....

I expect there may be a few more carrier posts from me in the future

You could just say that the hook caught the wire and became tense.

..but I noticed you're about 25 feet short of the number one wire. ;D

Yep, thought I'd better actually touch down before reaching the wire otherwise I might not actually catch it...

...mind you it's been a long time since I saw Top Gun, maybe I should study it more carefully... do they actually fly above the deck and let the tail hook catch and drag them down?

Anyway, I can see that SOME PEOPLE  ;) are having a hard time believing that I actually managed it...I'll post the other landing shots I took later :D

Have a good day!

Meh! Real men land Gloster Meteors on the deck of the default carrier outside san fransico with the help of arrcab and such!

Mind you it's a real PITA to do but vere satisfying when done!

great shots/angles!  Have yet to try out that tommie. Flew for a bit but missed my automated afterburners from the B version
