Well, i've finaly come out of the dark ages and got my new rig up and running. I'm now the proud owner of a P4 2400 with NVidia GFX 5700 256mb card and 1 gig of RAM!  ;D

This is in no small way thanks to a SimV member you all know, Lemoncat. When he decided to upgrade his rig, he decided to offer the guts of his old system to a fellow SimV member. All he asked in return was a token payment to help with the cost of his new system. I won't say how much but put it this way, I got the whole thing including power supply and two hard drives of 20 and 40 GB's for the cost of a new graphics card!

Lemoncat, Thank you. Here are the first shots from my new system just for you!

737-500 coming in over the Bristol Channel. Note the richer colours and tha fact I can use clouds without grinding to a halt!

On final over the water,

Touchdown, look, framerates not only in double figures but in the mid 20's!

Full reverse, didn't realise that even the sound suffered from 'frame lag' on my old system. Nice smooth engine sounds now,

This is the UK2000 scenery for Cardiff and the frames are still good even with buildings in full view (was getting 4-5 fps before! :o ),

Hope you liked them, I do!! :)

Cool.. how do you get such good FPS with a 5700? I guess the 256mb texture mem and the gig of RAM contribute quite a bit..?
