Nothing too challenging about this leg; the clouds are hardly a problem.

The copilot is eager to take the controls again, and handles the DC3 well on takeoff.

Navigation is simplified for a while by the alignment of Rte. 85...

Image

After passing the first set of power lines, the highway will veer south, leaving them to hold a good course until the halfway point.

Image

And soon it approaches: there's the ridge, with the highway beyond, just where the power lines cross it.

Image

Eventually a small lake indicates they're still on course.

At ease in the right seat, the captain reads the checklist aloud as they approach Greeley. He lowers gear and flaps, as the copilot sets up a good downwind for 27.

The landing is superb; right on the numbers.

"Not bad, kid..."
