Frontier Airlines summer 1950-part 12

Next leg is to Riverton, Wyoming: 8300-ft. Pathfinder mountain will make an excellent course reference and mark the approximate halfway point.

The copilot is a little disappointed: the captain hasn't yet offered him the chance to fly another leg. But his taxiing is improving...

Immediately after takeoff, they bank to the south.

The DC3 climbs with the North Platte River rising on the left; ahead lies Pathfinder Mountain and beyond that, Pathfinder Reservoir, the source of the Platte.

First they come upon Alcove Reservoir, elevation 5600 feet:

Then they pass just east of the mountain, and soon leave the big reservoir behind.
