Peacemaker Over Arizona

Postby GunnerMan » Sat Dec 03, 2005 12:32 pm

Well this is Alpha Sims B-36 on its way to Pheonix Air Museum out of Las Vegas. The quality of this plane out of box I think is poor, I only have it because its one of my fav aircraft.

Leaving Las Vegas, you can see a sliver of Lake Mead to the left.

About 50 miles over the Nevada - Arizona border and approaching Kingman.

Decending Into Pheonix, we have lost a lot of light.

On approach to Sky Harbor

Touchdown, a little off center but it was a VFR landing so gimme a break ;)

I was hopeing to get to cross Hover Dam but my route said otherwise. :P

I love that awesome bird, nice shots of it!!! I live for the day when I get the chance to try out Ito's bird...seems like a good alternative if Alpha's product isn't up to scratch, and looks way cool in the one shot I saw from (I think) Omag....

Yeah, I wish the rockets worked. Because right now it feels so easy to get off the ground. But infact it had those 4 rocket pods on there to help get the thing up to speed. It is the largest bomber ever made by the US with a wingspan almost twice as long as the modern B-52 This one only has the animations.

A very sweeping statement which, IMO, is no longer true...

By the way - those four rocket pods are turbojet engines added to boost the thrust for take-off.

And for he who made the sweeping statement on Alphasim, take a look at the Alphasim screenshot forum in particular the F-117 which should sway your opinion.

If thats not enough, have a look at the C-5 Galaxy, F-8 Crusader etc etc. For the price, these are damn fine models recently released by Alphasim.

Last I heard Ito doesn't do VC's.......?

Hmm I remember watching a show on the History Channel about this aircraft (back in the day of Wings) best show ever. And I remember them saying they were rockets and only operated during takeoff.

Never believe everything you hear on TV... ;)

Unfortunately the B-36 is rather let down having MSFS as a host sim. AFAIK only 4 engines can be simulated in FS9, and you can't simulate a mix of pistons and turbines. Shame really...

I am sorry that you are not satisfied with your product. The product still has a VC, soundpack, AI model and effects included for a very reasonable and affordable price. It is the best available B-36 for flightsim at this time.

Soundpack eh? I might be tempted now you've told me that, despite it having a wingspan of 2 times any other payware aircraft I have! :) ;D

It's not mine though, before my time lol ;D

As long as its rediculously loud, I don't care! ;D I remember the one I had for FS5 or FS98. That was awesome! ;D
