Tokyo at night, FPS for Ozzy

Postby Censport » Fri Nov 04, 2005 4:13 pm

I stayed up late last night to get these, Ozzy, so show me some luuvv...  :D

Now while my framerates aren't hit too hard by the scenery, it does take a good bit longer for the flight to load if I start the flight in the greater Tokyo area. So I typically start at Matsumoto (RJAF) or my "home port" of Yamaguchie-Ube (RJDC). RJAF is only a hour's flight from Tokyo, on north side of the island. And yes, there's payware scenery for that airport too!

Here we are, coming across downtown Tokyo to take the downwind on 34R. These are the buildings behind the Maule in my previous thread.

Then it's over the Rainbow Bridge (over, for a change! ;D) and along Odaiba. There's the FujiTV building in the foreground, the building I flew through with the Bell 47 in the background, some other building I can't remember to the right of FujiTV, and behind that, a cruise ship. Haneda (RJTT) is in the background.

Now keep in mind that I have at least three AI traffic packages running for Japan, plus the FS9 default, plus my own GA traffic. Just trying to make it realistic! How much traffic? You hardly have room to swing a cat, much less make a proper turn for base...

By the way, that's Yokohama in the background.

Finally, we're on final. There's the ANA 747 past the decision point, but he'll have to go around, as will the Soar 777 that just soared over my head, trying to slam me into the Tokyo Bay with his turbulence.

And there's your first glimpse of Haneda. At the time of our landing, there were 91 planes on the ground at RJTT, plus another 8 in the pattern, 5 or 6 had called their place on the ILS and another dozen or so were behind them. Then there's the Narita traffic, Yokota, Chofu, Atsugi Aero... all had traffic. During the day, planes are lined a third of the length of 34R & 34L to take off.

Since I've flown around greater Tokyo, how about I give a tour of Haneda next time? That'll be at least two threads on its own! Guess I better go over to the ANA/JAL hangars by 34L and get the Bell 47 ready to go...
