In honor of me...

Today is a big day for Steve Butka.  I officially made my switch to the Marine Corps PLC program from Army ROTC.  In two months I will be taking my flight test and after I pass that and complete my summer training I will be commission a Marine Officer on my way to being an Aviator.  My ultimate goal is to become a commercial pilot and it's been my dream since I was 6 or 7 years old, and now...at the age of 21 I have finally started my journey towards that dream.

To celebrate, I've done something I rarely do-- fly a Harrier in FS2004:

Wow good job, must be excited, I would be.
I think my cousin recently got accepted for pilot training too.

What do you plan on flying?

good luck

anything so long as it's fixed wing and not rotor.

My eventual goal, however.... Triple Sevens :)

Steve, Congradulations...and might I say, GOOD CHOICE!

Have you already knocked college out of the way? I've had a couple of ODOs here at the Air Station who have gone the PLC route...not too many, alot have done MECP, but we get a few PLCs, my dad went through the program back in 70', wound up doing 35 years starting out with F-4s.

Good luck, and if there is anything I can do, don't hesitate to ask.
