So there are "no dumb questions", right?

This is probably silly, but is there some unspoken rule here about posting images of default, unrepainted FS9 aircraft and scenery as payware? I haven't checked back too far, but I haven't seen any here; only add-on stuff. I don't have any payware add-ons (yet); not in the budget (yes, it IS tight!); so I'd like to show off some all-stock screenies.  I don't see any specific mention in the guidelines, but...? ??? :-[

PS- And is it illegal to listen to ATC...?  ;) :D

Posting stock aircraft, scenery, etc is quite legal.

Thanx, reverse, although it's not much clearer now.
The official mod stance is: "payware in any way, shape or form" (sic?).
As far as the ATC thing goes, it's a joke: a reference to several posts by another member who was worried he'd get in trouble for listening to real-world  ATC freqs via streaming audio on the Web... ;D

Hiya Rotty.
How's it going?
The payware screenshot forum is specifically geared toward payware.
I will try to clear it up.

Payware aircraft
Payware scenery
Payware sky
payware airports
Payware mesh
payware traffic
payware land-class
payware anything!
If you needed to break out your credit card or access your Pay-Pal account, it goes here!  ;D  ;D

Yes some shots may not really show some sort of payware but what has happened here between the Freeware & payware forums is this.
Most of us who have payware on our systems, I mean allot, just post here all the time.
I mean I could post a default 777 leaving a default airport but I would have payware Ultimate Traffic, payware Active Sky, payware mesh, payware FSScene all running in the back ground. I don't bother with the freeware/payware decision anymore because somebody will say, "great shot but isn't that a payware mesh you are running?"
See it gets confusing. I have so much payware installed, I just post here now.  ;D

I haven't checked back too far, but I haven't seen any here; only add-on stuff.
Not too sure what you mean here. Mostly all shots have some sort of payware going on.  I do see a few that might not and were probably posted in this forum by accident. "Crispy Scandinavia" and "First few" for instance. ::)

so I'd like to show off some all-stock screenies.
If they are stock screenies and you didn't have to pay for it, it should go in the "freeware" forum.
I hope this clears things up a bit.  ;D

Hi SkyEagle.
I am running ActiveSky!
It is a payware weather engine that is absolutely incredible! Much better than the stock weather engine that comes with FS9
Check it out!

Dave,

I think what rottydaddy was reffering to was that he can't remember seeing any shots with just default aircraft running... 8)

Thanks, Ben, yes: just FS9, out of the box (which I paid for), no embellishment from third-party sources. Well, maybe Waterzone, but no 3rd-party planes or scenery.  Technically, that's payware, right?  I thought maybe that's frowned upon as "boring" or something. I'm not that bored with it yet, and I've got a few nice screenies that I'd like to show off.

Nope, just buying the game doesn't make it payware! lol :P

Well, excuse me!!  Define "payware", then, if that term doesn't refer to software you pay for. Enlighten this old caveman...

Paid for FS + add-ons for free

Okey-doke; I think I get it now. The main reason for separate screenshots forums is to separate payware add-ons from everything else, including FS9 defaults. Therefore, a pic of, say, the default Cub in a default setting would be considered freeware, for all intents and purposes.  Hadn't seen any default FS9 aircraft in the Freeware pictures forum, so it was a bit confusing. Thanks, all,  for helping me navigate through the jargon minefield... :) I didn't want to make any trouble, considering all the work that's been done to set up this great site.
