Jeez, for all of us who want to spend our time in the air, there sure is a allot of talk in these forums about spending it on the ground!

this is what SaVas had said in another thread.........

"Im still not convinced that I want to buy it. They look too much like gray lines painted on existing surfaces. If they made them less lined (like tree coverage in some areas) I might consider it".

This was in reference to your shots of the FSGenisis add-on.(Which by the way is awsome) However I am running the USRoads add-on,but if you look at the shots you will see that the secondary roads have the tree cover that he was talking about.
I do plan on getting the FSGenisis add-on for just the streams and utilities............(gotta have) LOL

Now thats more like it. Any plans to make some of the roads more blacktopped instead of concrete?

And you said that was an adon for USRoads. Where can I read up on that?

try this.............

WHAT ARE ALTERNATE ROAD TEXTURES FOR "US ROADS"?
-------------------------------------------------
"USA Roads" is a software add-on for MS Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9) marketed by Flight One Software, Inc. and Scenery Solutions. It replaces the default roads and highways which are sparse and only approximate in location, with correctly placed roads, down to the street level.
It has been said by some that "US Roads" look unrealistic, like looking at a Road-Map, because the roads are too bright and clean. In real life the roads are darker and partially concealed by vegetation. I have spent hours looking at aerial photos on the net, and was surprised at how "US Roads" looks very realistic, especially when comparing FS "top-down" views with map-type color photos. The light color roads are very prominent in the pictures, as are the clean lines.
There are 2 main differences. Firstly, the real photos show more variety in pavement colors, concrete being very light grey and asphalt being almost black. In New Jersey interstate roads are often black, with center dotted white lines and yellow side lines. Although overhead shots show clean lines, views out the window, being less vertical, show many roads partially obscured by vegetation. (Some roads cannot be seen, just deduced from the row of trees).
In my new "Alternate US Roads", I have modified the various roads using different methods, including actual road photographs, changes in road color and brightness, and the use of irregular transparency to soften the lines and give the illusion of vegetation partially obscuring the roads. Most textures use images adapted from "US Roads" by kind permission of the author.

In all honesty, you might want to do a little more research over at FSGenisis. The fellow that made the add-on for USRoads is now working on the road package from FSGenisis..................sooooooooooooo
with the ability to "flatten" in the FS product it might be a better deal.............plus you get the streams and utilities and railroads and don't forget that the updates to FS by Jutin are............FREE>>>>>>>>

And I had to buy the Flight 1 Piper meridian tonight too, because there was an inquiry on how to use their text-o-matic, and I noticed the one I had from one of their older payware was for CFS2  ??? They should let you choose which text-o-matic you want to install SHEESH
