anytime, anywhere, and anyplace, the connie always looks pretty!...right?

Okay valo I agree the connie looks good, but so does the DC6, DC4, DC3 and DHC-3 in that kind of weather.
Along with a few others like the C45, Beech 18 or Expediter as I knew it or how about the Cessna 337.
They were all flown in that kind of weather and many times used for Medical Air Evacutation during the 50s, 60s, 70s etc.
Anytime, anywhere and anyplace is a little out of place fro an aircraft like the Connie.  She to my knowledge was never equipped with wheel/skis to land on the ice above the Dew Line nor certified for that.  Now if you want to look at aircraft like the DC3, (Dakota/C47), the DHC-3, Norseman or Caribou thats what they were designed for.  The Buffalo which was a later De-Haviland aircraft with turbo-props and still in service with the Canadian Forces is another good example along with the Twin Otter.
The Connie like the Canadian Built Yukon was one of the last great piston aircraft designed to carry more passengers across the pond.

Please valo do not take offense to this post...it is just my opinion...I flew the dew line from station to station so never saw a Connie in that area.

hi doug..thanx for the compliments on the connie shots.  i must tell you that i take exception to your opinion regarding the setting and the aircraft.  the screenshot depicts juneau alaska.  as you know, trans canada flew connies for many years , in fact they flew connies from toronto and montreal to glasgow, london etc back in 1954.  they flew anchorage, juneau, seattle etc, all places with weather conditions i depict in the screenshots.  as for "anytime anywhere", one just has to look at the operational career of this bird, (cuba, vietnam, alaska, india, manilla, pakistan, all through europe, etc etc etc) to know that "anytime anywhere" is quite fitting!!. yes doug, if i needed an airplane to land on the polar ice cap, with skis, i probably wouldn't pick the connie (lol). my screenshot is of an airliner , mid 1950's taking off in snow conditions (visability ok), very common for any aircraft operating up north.  in fact, nw airlines flew in and out of Shemya, in the nothern part of the Alutian island chain  for many years....definately a maintenance nightmare for the ground crews!  pacific northwest airlines flew seattle to anchorage and points NORTH for many years also...i'm sure snow and ice was very common......the connie.."anytime, anywhere"

Sadly,I can't afford the payware Connie,but I think my DC-7C (Called "Seven Seas" - I love that word play!) fits that slogan ("anytime anywhere") quite well,too.

thats right exploder. the seven seas' was a great airliner.  in fact, both the dc7c and the super connie were the best "tri motors> around .  (damn wright cyclones!)

Valo where did you find the Connie? Since I saw a real one at the airshow yesterday methinks I might have to buy this one

how ya doin savas...you can get the connie at "super connie flyers" page....dont have the exact hyperlink, but very easy to find if you google "scfa"...BUT...if you really want a perfect connie for free, go to calclassics,,it will blow you away...see my recent "calclassic 049" in the freeware forum...a work of art
