I went to my local airfield this weekend and look what was waiting there for me! It was the MAAM-SIM R4D-6!

Only thing I don't like about MAAM is I can't purchase and download their aircraft. I don't want no stinkin' disc

Hm,what's the difference between a R4 and an ordinary DC3?

The R4D-6 is a modified C47b ( Developed for operations 'over the hump' between India and China. This version had better heating and R-1830-90C radials with two-stage blowers.) That was recieved by the US Navy from the USAF.

Which means the differance of a C47 and a DC3 is a DC3 is a passenger aircraft and a C47 is a military production model with 6in greater span, revised fuel tanks, R-1830-92 radials, small astrodome, and payload of 6,000lb or 28 paratroops or 14 casualties and three attendants.
