Holidays are something special. A time to spend with family and friends. A time to make new friends all having a common interest in aviation.

Especially true are holidays that instead of celebrate, remember those that fought for our freedom, many giving up their lives so that we could remain free from the tyrants of the world and through our rememberance, we gather to acknowledge those brave souls.

Only problem today is we ran out of beer and wine at Emma last night at Fritz's barbecue gathering so Bill "Goosey" Simmons and I put in a call to Orcas Island trying to find some replacement beverages. As luck would have it, they had plenty. to spare.

Goosey and I met up with Hank, and unloaded his Chevy, filling the Goose with tonights festivities and chewed the fat about old friends, good times, and adventures.

A couple of crates of Miller and two cases of good wine loaded up. Hank even brought us some fine fresh cut steaks and ribs, sorry that he was unable to attend, even though we tried our best to get him to join us.

Once the old bird was loaded up, I did the preflight check, configued the GPS, and Bill fired up the engines. For an antique aircraft, the Goose was purring like a stroked kitten with a mean side.

Hank watched as we began to taxi to the runway from Louie's business, Aeronautical Services

Taxi completed, and clearance to take off was given. We powered up the engines, barrelling down the runway, our destination Emma field. The Goose lifted from the runway with ease, cargo on board and two souls enjoying the scenery below

Part 2 to come

Hope you enjoyed so far :)

That scenery is awesome! I've never seen the Orcas Island airport in real life but I'll try to see the next time I'm over there. Can't wait for part 2  ;D
