What a fighter!! Part1

Postby EricK » Mon Jan 26, 2004 8:01 pm

Hi there,
Well, I finally folded and bought a payware model. I couldn't resist this one. I just looked so good. Now that I have it, I must say it is 'good'

I split the shots into 2 parts. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks
Eric

Does it include the CAF checkerboard paint scheme?

I saw natural metal, OD Green, 421 Sqdn "Cokebottle" and 439 Sqdn Tiger...but no checkerboard. :(

Kinda interested in that...the checkerboard was flown by 441 (Silver Fox) Sqdn. :)

Very Nice shots....Liked the third one the best :).

I also think you will find that 424 Tiger Squadron is now a Search and Rescue Squadron flying Hercs, Labs and the new Comorant.
That is the CF104 that is in your first pic.

At least it was when I was there yesterday.

Cheers....Happy Landings....Doug :)

424 (Tiger) is not the unit that flew the 104... that was 439 (Sabre Toothed Tiger).

The Sqdn History can be seen here: http://www.airforce.forces.ca/hist/439sqn_e.htm

Thanks for the correction SilverFox.
I should have looked closer at the Tiger Crest on the nose of the aircraft.
I usually talk with the lads from 424 on a weekly basis.
Will put the two Crests to-gether when I get over to the Museum to see the differences.

Cheers....Happy Landings...Doug
