FSX - Amazing sceneries

Postby mikesingh » Sun Jan 31, 2016 8:31 am

Hi guys! Here are a few screenshots from my FSX. Most have been taken from the Robinson chopper as I like flying low and gives me a wide view of the scenery. So here they are....

Thanks Shadowcaster! I use mostly payware scenery. There are no free lunches if one wants good stuff! :)

Aerosoft is my favorite though a trifle expensive. Then there's ORBX/FTX, REX and so on. This site too has some good stuff!

Cheers! :obscene-drinkingcheers:

I use ORBX/FTX for the US but I must say the the Innsbruck scenery looks very inviting also Niagara looks great, are they both from Aerosoft.

Hi Mike, and welcome to SimV! These are lovely shots, terrific scenery and I like the way you use the Robinson to get down into the scenery.

One thing, we do ask that you upload your images to our server instead of linking them, images load quicker for our members who have slow connections.

The link to upload images is at the top of every page. http://simviation.com/phpupload/phUploader.php

Again, we are glad to have you here at Simviation, and I look forward to seeing more posts from you, keep up the good work

Great photos.

I think that the best thing I have ever done for my FSX was to add the Orbx sceneries. Started with Orbx Global and then added some regions such as North America and Canada/Alaska. My world touring is now even more pleasurable due to the superb clear and detailed world that I fly over. Truly wonderful for a Sim-Addict like me. I am glad that you enjoy yours as you obviously do.

Another good reason for uploading Screen shots to the Sim V Site, is that uploads to other Sites sometimes get deleted, resulting in "dead links" in the display address.
All my Screen-shots, Photos, Pictures, Dinners!, etc, everything, are always uploaded to the Sim V Site, where I know they will always be safe to view!

Sim V = Fort Knox!

Hi BigTruck, thanks for the warm welcome!

I tried uploading the images to your server as you and Fozzer have mentioned but it says the file size is too large! Jeeez! These are just about 700px X 460px jpg. So what now?

Here are two images from Hawaii with sizes mentioned above but uploaded from Photobucket as these are not being accepted by your server saying they're too large!

Anything smaller would be like a thumbnail!! ;) So how does one upload with the size as shown in the pics above?

Thanks!

Mike.

It's not so much the height and width of the picture, but the size of the file.

Look at this picture, and then check out the file size below it.

What you need is a program that lets you save your picture at a lower resolution. There are tons of them, and you probably already have one or two. If not, don't worry, there are a large number of free programs to choose from.

You might also want to save your pictures in a larger size as I did. My picture above is 1400 X 510 in size. And yet it is still only 96.5K in size.

So as not to be confused about where to post your pictures, there are two main screenshot locations. One is for pictures that have been altered - Edited Screenshots.

And the other location is this one.

Hello Mike, very good (and common) questions. As OldAirmail stated, the "size" of your pictures is fine (length and width)

It is the "weight" of the pics that needs to be adjusted. There is so much detail in your shots that they are probably a few MB's each. A quick adjustment with a picture editor and you'll be all set.

Also to be clear, re-sizing your screenshots does not mean they need to go in the Edited Screenshots forum, we don't count that as editing. O0
