Only 24 hours from scunthorpe

Postby todayshorse » Thu May 31, 2012 3:27 pm

Greetings 'Sim Bloke' fans!

Heres the two weird blokes from the '337, and maybe what they might get up to. Perhaps.

Check it :)

Vrrrrrrrroooooooooooooooom!!...Our two slightly strange sim blokes speed over the lincolnshire countryside...

Hello! Here we are! As you will note this is us with bloom OFF. We are quite alike, but with subtle differences.
For instance me on the left has a moustache and am a little fatter and older than my sim friend here on the right.
Dont we look serious but slightly creepy? Today we are going to scunthorpe. Cool eh?

Image

Cooo eee! Here we are again but with bloom ON. I think we look more handsome like this. I like my lumberjack shirt - dont you?
Its apparent my sim buddy on the right is in some sort of trance..

Image

Im playing commander now with bloom OFF.
See how i bank us into scunthorpe, this bustling hive of activity below us. Im pretty hunky in profile dont you think? I wonder who came up with the name 'Scunthorpe'???

Image

And here our two graphically challenged friends with bloom OFF fly over Scunthorpe Steel Works with its four Queens. Fascinating isnt it.

Hope you enjoyed our little adventure into what was South Humbersides most apt named town, with our two 'sim blokes'. They abolished 'Humberside' some years ago, so its now in North Lincs.. But its still called 'Scunthorpe'

I certainly did 8-)

"Cool", "Bustling hive of activity" and "Scunthorpe" all mentioned in close proximity.

Once in a lifetime event that! ;D

At least one remnant of 'umberside remains though; Humberside Airport. Flying east of the A15 (main road from Lincoln to Scunthorpe(ish) for those unfamiliar with the geography of "bomber county") is far better though, with all the disused airfields to go and look at! (although there are two just out of shot in picture 4) :)

Well indeed, and Humberside Airport itself, although seemingly a shadow of its former self - nothing seemes to happen there now, it used to be worth a park up near the runway, youd be certain to see somthing....though they have a BAC 1-11 front section for fire training....was Kirmington Airport, or in fact RAF Kirmington.

There are some good viewing spots across the A18 and down the side of the airport, some years ago concorde itself did some touch and go's or somthing like that and nearly took the tops of our cars off! Great day ;D.

But yes theres plenty of disused and abandoned airfields round here...but also several active ones - living on the doorstep of RAF Waddington has its bonuses  ;)

;D ;D ;D...made my day... ;)

Well done on the shots and the commentary... ;)

The "Lumberjack Shirt" as you call them...well I have at least ten of them in various colours...awesome shirts for the outdoors men/women.... ;)

Come in solid colours also and matching jackets/coats... ;)

Lined or unlined, long and short sleeved, these shirts will last for years... :)

Take a look at how much they are now...almost double what I paid... :o

They also come with Zippers and various other fasteners (snaps) rather than just buttons.

I would guess about half the men of various ages at the bugsmasher fields we drop into wear a variation of the plaid shirt with a matching coat/jacket... ;)

Sorry to get so long winded again "todayshorse"... ;D
