What a nice surprise...

Postby patchz » Tue May 31, 2011 5:35 pm

While flying from Friday Harbor to Cushman Lake, I found this neat little strip I had not seen before.

WA45 Olympic Field, is about half way between Port Townsend and Port Ludlow, a bit to the west.

Thanks Doug. :)

I found an email address for the band and sent a request for the lyrics. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

And I know what you mean. There were green alligators and long necked geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees..... ;D

Nice little airport you found Larry.

What Beaver Video?

A long time ago when the earth was green,
There were more kinds of animals than you've ever seen,
They'd run around free while the earth was being born,
But the loveliest of all was the Unicorn.

There were green alligators and long necked geese,
Some humpty-back camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
The loveliest of all was the Unicorn.

Now God seen some sinning and it gave Him pain,
And He said "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain."
He said "Hey brother Noah, I'll tell you what to do,
Build me a floating zoo. And take some of them...

Green alligators and long necked geese,
Some humpty-back camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
Don't you forget My Unicorn."

Well Noah was there to answer the call,
And he finished making the ark just as the rain started to fall.
He marched in the animals two by two,
And he called out as they went through, "Hey Lord, I got your..."

Green alligators and long necked geese,
Some humpty-back camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
I just don't see no Unicorn."

Well Noah looked out through the driving rain,
Those Unicorns were hiding, and playing silly games.
They were kicking and a-splashing while the rain was pouring down,
Oh them silly Unicorns.

There were green alligators and long necked geese,
Some humpty-back camels and some chimpanzees,
Noah cried "Close the door, for the rain is pouring,
And we just can't wait for no Unicorn."

Well the ark started moving, it drifted with the tide.
Those Unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried,
And the waters came down and sort of floated them away,
And that's why you'll never see a Unicorn... to this very day.

You'll see green alligators and long necked geese,
Some humpty-back camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
You're never gonna see no Unicorn

This Beaver video.

I've been playing and singing The Unicorn for years but I would like to have the lyrics to the version in the video. :)

Every time I stumble across something like this, I think, "I need to spend more time exploring my ORBX sceneries."

Excelent shots Larry! I will definitely check this one out. It looks like a good FSRecorder landing, one by water and one by land. ;) One odd thing though, you have dirt in your water. ;D ;)
