Hong Kong, Red tail BA style

Postby todayshorse » Sun Jul 06, 2008 12:14 pm

Hello classic retro airliner and airport fans! Heres a few from the excellent Kai Tak by FlyTampa, using my latest repaint for the CLS 747.....Is that a groan i hear from the gatherd masses!!! ;D

Sorry, but it was a good tester, although the paints not complete, it fits nicely with the scenery, i thought anyway. Im particulary pleased with how the engines look, bar the 'no step' thing which obscures the RR badge, i need to move it :D

Anyway, they are not what i would consider my best screenshots ever, as my weather.dll is playing up and i really wanted a haze over the scenery (says theres one when you install kai tak, how does it work? i havent seen it yet?) so im stuck with only a few weather scenarios, try and change and i get a nice fat CTD....guess i need a new weather.dll!

Anyway on with the shots....

very nice shots!! i like #2 as well. i just have a question that im sure a lot of people can answer. and that is how do you get the AA to be so smooth? i tried turning it on in the game, and that works to some extent, but i still have a lot of jagged edges. i also tried turning it up on my graphics card, and off in game, but that was unsuccessful as well. any suggestions?

Well i cant speak for everyone but i have it on in the game, any other way and i get jaggies. My rig is not the latest all singing and dancing does the washing up type thing though, and nhancer, although ive fiddled with it, gives me great scenery, lovely fps, but jaggies no matter what.....

So i revert to standard stuff, AA on in game, bilinear filtering, usual stuff really. I dont get the bst fps with it like this and everything maxed, but i just have to knock down one or two sliders a touch and its flyable!

Thanks for the comments, i do intend to do some serious shots soon with this scenery, its certainly worth it!
