Ah yes fraps....ive never used the 'save for web thing' nor any default capture tool, and ive always used fraps to capture stuff - cant fault it.

Glad youve got it almost sorted!

Ok, that works, the files are much smaller at higher-reses as JPEGs, but for some reason, the shots look like the quality is toned down:

Which video card do you have?

Make sure you capture your shots as BMP's, this way you have the most material to work with.

Image

Open the RAW screenshot in Photoshop and first resize to 1024 wide. Then use 'save for the web' and get it as close as you can to 150kb.

Image

That is the optimal way to get nice screenshots that are not more compressed than necessary.

An X1650 isn't that bad. You should be able to get better quality shots from it that what I've seen from you so far ...

okay, but, yea, i have an AMD Athalon 64 X2 processor, the FSX readme says that will "not show a total graphical experience" idk if that is doing anthing here or not but...

Make sure you post them in a new tread as this one is already waaay over its 600kb limit.

For 'informative reasons' I think the mods have allowed it thusfar though I don't think we should strech it any further.

We could discuss this matter further via e-mail, if you like.
