im guessing the second is after, but to be honest while it looks more realistic it looks really messy! Definatly prefere the before shot!

GEX nhanced is the messy one.  But I must admit that in the before shot (also GEX but with the canyon update), there is that beige, sandy ground cover and in the nhanced version there is much more detail in the slopes and plateaus.  And better color too.  And trust me-it doesn't look that messy on screen, that's just my lousy capture technique.

I happened to be down in Southern Arizona when the GEX update came out, and I started working my way back North. I flew over the Grand Canyon earlier, and have been flying over the desert for a few hours now. I am impresed with the GEX update. It's great....! 8-)

As I have explained in other threads, the issue is with the model of the landscape and the method Aces designed to cover it.. guess how many primary textures cover the entire grand canyon...

You can not judge the GC by one or two sceenshots. the IN-GAME look takes on a much different look and you get the 'big picture' that way too

And although the difference is obvious and if you like it or not does not matter, I think it would be fair if you would post two exactly the same shots with the same location, heading, height, time of day etc ...

I like these both and I've never been to the Grand Canyon before but number two looks a bit more realistic. It can't all be that red ...
