New ponies for Harold

Postby jankees » Thu Nov 15, 2007 2:02 am

I'm sorry Harold,

but I haven't finished painting Mustangs just yet...I've calculated that I've done more than a 100, so another..well...about 8000 more to go...
Here's a few examples of the latest ones I've done, most for the Shockwave WWII P-51D, except for 'Warhorse' which was a request for Warwick Carters P-51.
I hope you like them, both repaint- and screenshot- wise.

What Warhorse paint (the last one) is kind of a Matte and non Photo-real paint unlike your others... What happened :-?

But the other are absolutely excellant! ;D  :o

The original wasn't bare metal, but painted overall, matte indeed, and it's a different model altogether, the Mustang by Warwick Carter, for which I (have to) use a different paintkit.
Non of them are photoreal by the way, for the others I use a paintkit by John Terrell, which is just fantastic.

As for the black stripes, most Iwo Jima Mustangs had those, and they are referred to as bomb-aiming stripes. I have no idea how this is supposed to work though, maybe someone else on this forum?
