Postby simonmd » Sat Aug 18, 2007 6:10 pm

Did this for a bit of fun for the VA i'm a member of,

The entire Virgin Group Fleet!

Seen here are the PMDG B744, CLS A346, two POSKY A343's (Virgin Atlantic and Nigeria), two PMDG 738's (Pacific Blue and Virgin Blue), LDS B763 and two iFDG A322's (Virgin America and Nigeria), all set outside the Virgin maintenance hanger at Heathrow,

BTW, three out of the nine aircraft have had their repaints done by myself!

Both have gone i'm afraid. V Sun went back in 2001 and Virgin Express ceased in March this year. Their routes were taken over by SN Brussels Airlines.

What they've lost in Europe, they've gained elsewhere. Virgin Nigeria started a couple of years ago and we saw the new Virgin America start just a couple of weeks ago.

The latest rumour is that Virgin are looking at a trans Pacific route. If they get that, it'll be possible to fly completely round the world on Virgin aircraft!

Had it pointed out to me that i'd missed one out. Virgin Blue opperates a few services which flies between Samoa, Australia and New Zealand under the Polynesian Blue name. There is actualy only ONE aircraft with that livery, the rest being done with regular Virgin Blue aircraft. However, it needed including!

Nice skins Simon. I'll might have a go at repainting an aircraft the proper way ... but I always have a hard time with Alpha Channels :-[

Any good tips?

Alpha channels are not something i've played with yet. Usualy, a decent repaint kit will have standard ones included that work for all repaints so I have left well alone so far. The three I've painted are the 747 (Virgin New Colours), the Nigeria 767 and the America A320. They all have good layered repaint kits that have Alpha channels included.

Yes, unfortunately, SimV's policy of a size limit per pic and not allowing pictures to be hosted off site means there is no way to rectify this.
