'There's a place, keeps on callin' me.....'

Postby TSC. » Tue Sep 05, 2006 2:47 pm

Hi all,

Been a while away since I've been flying around my old stamping ground, but I took Sir_Jon's advice & purchased Misty Fjords & Tongass Fjords aswell as FScargo - so I'm back with avengeance - & you'll have to get used my stupid bush flying posts again ;D :P :P

First job as soon as I got back home was to deliver some crates over to Gwent Bay seaplane base - not too far away, just about 45mins.

It's a beautiful morning, so lets get loaded up & get on our way:

Heading down past Ketchikan Harbour towards Annette Island, this mornings hop starts to get into it's stride:

A quick hello to the cruise ship 'Volendam', no doubt on it's way into Ketchikan:

About half way into the hop now & the typical 'Misty Fjords' weather has started to get, well - 'misty' ::):

Ahh yes - 'Misty Fjords' - the weather has just been continually closing in for the last 15 minutes now, hope it doesn't get much worse - it's getting close, but it's alright for now:

The light at the end of the tunnel, Pearse Canal & on the left, Pearse Island - this is where I need to begin my descent & start keeping my eyes peeled for Gwent Bay Seaplane Base which is located on the north/east tip of Pearse Island:

Well it's a good job I was awake, Gwent Bay just appeared out of no-where, tucked in to this cosy little bay - I damn nearly flew straight past it:

Job done, "Coffee please - large one!":

Cheers,

TSC.

I love those water textures and I have them but the problem is when you're too close to water, it doesn't look so nice (like 1st shot)

#4 is AWESOME!! ;)

Hi flymo, you can get the Misty Fjords & Tongass Fjords scenery at Simmarket, there is also a whole host of freeware scenery & hops designed specifically to work with this package over at Misty Moorings. The water textures are a bit of a mystery to me, I thought they were default, but maybe I have installed PerfectWater & forgotten about it.

I love those water textures and I have them but the problem is when you're too close to water, it doesn't look so nice (like 1st shot)

Your right AlonsoX, when your 'on the deck' those textures look more like tar or an oil slick than water - can anybody say 'Exxon Valdez'?

Thanks fitter, I really like this repaint of the 206 aswell.

Excellent shots TSC,  glad your enjoying your purchases.

Yep, it's made sooo much difference to Alaska for me, the shots really don't do any justice to the new mesh & I'm really enjoying the cargo work aswell. Time to brush up my BFU colours for the 206 me thinks.

Thanks for the reccomendation John.

Cheers,

TSC.

Great shots Martyn!! I for one do not mind those "stupid bush flying" posts...LOL...All three add-ons work seamlessly together and are like soulmates...made for each other...I have to re-install Tongass and Misty along with FSCargo as well....So much work to do in my sim 8) ;D ;)
