One for John Baymore...

Postby microlight » Sat Apr 22, 2006 10:44 am

Hi John,

Been reading your posts on the Murchison 146 - just to spur you on, here's the Murchison Avro RJ100 in my own repaint, waiting to take off on 26L from Gatwick, bound for Jersey. (That's Old Jersey, not New Jersey!) The scenery is UK2000's new Gatwick Pro, complete with North terminal extension bridge (that you can see) and a whole host of animated features and traffic (that you can't). One of the best 'live' airports I've yet come across.

For me, the UK 2000 scenery for Gatwick is better on framerates than some of the more complicated default airports, so no complaints there. You can download the demo version for free and try it out (www.uk2000scenery.com) before you buy. I reckon it's worth every penny!

Yes, it's the freeware Murchison 146, available here. As John says, it's quite a model. I use the earlier version of Matthias Lieberrecht's panel as the more recent one does have a significant FR hit on my system.

The paint job was for my own amusement, really - a little homage I did to my favourite band (the London Symphony Orchestra) on the occasion of their centenary back in 2004. I can upload it if you'd like to transport the orchestra around Europe! (I have one for the Kittyhawk 737-700 and Meljet 777also! Range of transportation options...)

We really need a high quality payware Avro RJ.
Probably the cockiest RJ outthere.
Aerosofts 146-200 is getting too old  :-[

Highest on my wishlist of RJ's are
Avro RJ
Dornier 328 JET

microlite,

Yeah... the 3.0 panel is a pretty complex setup, system wise.

Nexus,

Check out Matthias's existing Avro RJ panel matched up with Murchison's model.  Not too shabby.  And when the 4.0 panel is out...... likely we won;t need a payware version.  ;)

I bet it will be a hooch.
But there isa distinct "gap" between high quality freeware and PMDG quality payware.
I really dont want to rack down on freeware designers: They are afterall the backbone of this hobby!

But to create a fully complex FS aircraft you have to get access to very vital data which often is not cheap (payware groups usually do several "real" simulator rides, you think that's for free?)

My co-worker used to be chief MX on the Avro for Malm
