No W&F, anyone can get any angle if they play MP, and use a spot plane ;) LOL i just have all my to PC's sitting next to eachother and do it like that, in fact the PC i actually took the pic on doesnt even have W&F installed!!

I'm a bit suspicious now you've said that. You're saying that you managed to pick the exact right place to be at the side of the runway while your MP aircraft took off as the MD-11? And as, cspyro said, how come there are at least three other AI aircraft in the shot? It is impossible for AI to be in a multiplayer session and if you where just connecting the two computers over the net as you said, there wouldn't be any other players.

Also, looking at it again, the angle is VERY low to be taken from another plane it would be higher up. The only way i've ever found to get a real 'ground level' view is to use W&F.

Plus the fact that you've deleted your 'rejected shots' from the freeware forum that W&F were obviously used.

You can get low from the VC, but still, it would be nearly impossible to get that angle (with the way the zoom is and everything) and there is most definately Ai in the backround, unless you have 3 computers and put that continental plane or somewhere found a high quality static airline and placed it there for the shot.

Yeh busted, could try nd lie my way out of it but i used W&F for this one. My theory was i could of done it in MP mode, just woulda taken longer, so i thought it seemed fair enough.

I know im a idiot, and im sorry!! I brought W&F as like an investment for the comps, seeing as everyone was using it it was impossible to win without, then it got banned, aghhhhhhhhhh

Sorry guys. Not gonna name names but i dont think i am the only one :P

You guys really would make excelent PI's ;D

Jeez, I feel like crap now!!

Cobra, great pic and i'd like to apologise for being a 'nitpicker' as someone else has said. You've put your hands up in public and even though you did bend the rules initialy I feel that your above statement proves that you are basicaly a decent person who deserves a 2nd chance. Well done for being man enough to 'face the music'. (mind you, I think you'd have got away with it if not for the silly MP idea!! ;) )

Mods, I say let this one through and let the voters decide. What do you think?

You got away with it last month :P

Walk and follow is banned for a reason.  You can tell even from this!  Yes, We could have gotten the angle and everything in MP, but the traffic in the background just adds so much to the shot, and its an effect that cannot be achieved in multiplayer.

Because no cropping is allowed, W&F is unfair.  You can get cool angles, the plane off center, etc.  You just cant do it without walk and follow.

You take amazing screenshots Cobra, I think you could get a winner even without W&F.

W&F is a great program for anyone who likes screenshots. If you look back through last years winners, i'm sure the majority used it. As a W&F user, I was disapointed that it's been baned from this comp but can fully understand why. However, the site admins do still let it be used in the normal freeware forum which I think is common sence. There would be so many pics that were entirely freeware relegated to the Payware section which (let's be honest) isn't used half as much as the freeware one.

Anyway, he's done the decent thing and can take a great SS whether it's legal or not. End of subject.

Their doesn't need to be such a big discussion about this and problem with using screenshot capture tools, simply if Cobra used W&F then shot will be banned automatically, by the mods and stuff, this doesn't need to be brought up in his reply's. Dont accuse of someon useing anything if you dont know. Ask nicely, then figure out the marmalade suff lol. Simply, read the rules and comply with them and you will succed. 8)

*I recomend this topic be locked, some people run on with things when the point is well brought up and over.*

Yeh your right Skynoz, its over :P

Seriously though i want to make it clear, i was sure that i could of taken this picture using a spot plane, but just would have taken longer, so i didnt really see the issue using W&F...not a cheater, just maybe bent the rules slightly ;)

Once you've got W&F its so hard not to use, compared to the default angles you can get!!

Sorry again.

Cheers MtbRdr :D

OK, I'm going to add my two cents to this thread. Basically, walk and follow is banned for 1 reason and that is fairness because not everyone can afford to buy it.

What I do have an issue with is the "no cropping" rule. OK, so a screenshot is exactly that, but the ability to crop (because EVERYONE can do it as there are free programs out there which allow you to do it) should be allowed, as it can allow shotters to take great angles.

What do you guys rekon?

I reckon this because we make the rules for this comp!
No cropping, editing or adjusting your shot!! Any images over 100 kb in weight, and being smaller than 800 wide and 600 high will not be VALID!  This rule is now being enforced since This is a Screenshot Contest and we "want to see the RAW shot!"

Very nice shot!
Very crisp and a great angle!
Nice ac!
Shame about W&F.  You don't have to use it to win, trust me. ;)

P.S to keep the wheels on the floor just try to take-off whilst underspeed.  The ac will not lift off the ground, just the nose. ;)
