A very interesting flight

Postby Steve_Butka » Tue Apr 04, 2006 11:32 pm

Sorry if you guys don't like easyjet stuff, but I started this airline up in FSPassengers because I liked the idea of travelling to a variety of nice locations in Europe without having to go aorund 7 times at the busy major airports.  I consider easyjet almost like the USA's Southwest so I thought I'd enjoy the experience.  Anyway, here are some pics from geneva to rome.  enjoy-- there are a few surprises.

Climbout from Geneva

Surprise from ATC-- send me right over the largest mountain in the area.  I barely got over this one and even had to hike up my ascent rate just to make sure I wasn't too close.

Another angle of my close call.

And yet another surprise as I began my descent into Rome.  The skies were buzzing and an airbus passed me at about 2 miles away...then, I got a traffic alert and this guy was under a mile from me.  Crazy!

a glimpse of the busy city of Rome about 15 miles out.

On final in the VC

More from final.

And we're down.  Welcome to Rome.

edit: reuploaded pics for better quality, hope it helped.

In reality, Europe's Southwest is Ryanair, the biggest low-cost carrier on the continent and the CEO, O'Leary, learned his business techniques straight from the great Herb Kelleher himself.  ;) I read "Ryanair: How a small Irish airline conquered Europe" a year and a half ago! ;D

Very nice shots! :)
