Just Flight warbirds

Postby 61_OTU » Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:26 am

Everyone knows I love warbirds, so here's a recent purchase from Just Flight. I've not had time to play with these much yet

You get the Tempest, the Spitfire MkV, and the MkV trop, all for 11 quid. Seems a bargain to me!

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

I didn't spend much time on them, I'm sure someone can do better, but I've not been happy with the freeware spits and Tempest available, I thought these were worth a try. For this price I don't think you can complain.

All I want now is a 'Grand Charles' and Hendon livery ;)

Shame Just Flight didn't use a decent PC for their website shots - they put me right off...

May be swayed the other way now I've seen these...

I've never figured that out. My PC is nothing special, but you'd think that JF would have a Cray to do screenshots. Instead they often look decidedly dodgy. Mine could be much better 'framed' shots, but at least they show off the models.

To be fair, as a relatively large publisher/retailer, if the developer was unable to supply high quality (even if not FS-GS quality) screen shots, it would be in their business interests to invest in a decent PC themselves!

To see what I mean, here's the webpage with the decidedly mediocre (by commercial standards) screenies...

http://www.justflight.com

It won't let me link directly to the Spit/Tempest screenies page...

Nice set, love that Tempest!

Checked out Just Flight's screenies, they're not too hot, tis true...

...makes me wonder how good the models can be if that is how they look to the developers...how can they make fine detailed stuff if they just see a mess of jaggies and blurs on the screen? Well... they look alright in your shots though so no harm done I guess :)
