Frontier Airlines summer 1950-part 10

The saga continues... ;D

The longest leg today, Riverton to Casper, begins at about 0945, over 10 minutes behind schedule. It's a lrelatively ow-terrain route, but there are few reliable landmarks, and it'll be a little while before they can pick up a radial from the Casper VOR.

The FO places a hand on the quadrant to "guard" the controls as the takeoff roll begins into a steady quartering headwind...

With a slight bounce, the DC3 departs, wallowing a little at this altitude.

On course as they climb out: the FO turns off the cabin signs, boosters, and landing lights as they pass their first checkpoints leaving town.

The visibilty is outstanding; the captain settles on a distant peak near their courseline to use as a visual reference.

Fuel flow to #1 is still slightly lower than normal, but it seems to be doing fine... this is a "real" condition- I've checked everything and cannot figure out why the model is doing this...

Eventually they near the halfway mark, where some power lines cross a highway.

Next: arrival at Casper, Wyoming
