HERE
... it was time to return to my native turf - laverly Pompey...I wanted to fly about my home town in some typical vehicles found there... and I used what I could find lying around on the internet...
...I made the short hop across to the Isle of Wight, where I spotted a vulnerable-looking Sea Harrier, cockpit open, pilot nowhere to be seen. I swooped down in my predatory C172, and soon I was heading skywards in a new machine...

We went for a spin around the island...

The weather cleared up a bit and it was looking like a nice morning as I spotted a stylish way to get over to Portsmouth, ...here we are just before looping and heading down to a beach near Ryde hovercraft terminal...

The Isle of Wight hovercraft service! The hovercraft looks something like this Hama one, though all red, and without the Japanese writing of course.....

One of the many ferries that ply their way back and forth...

Wow... the only scenery available for Portsmouth UK, and something I've never seen in real life, living abroad as I do... the brand new Millenium (5 years late) Spinnaker tower!!!

In the late 80s when I still lived in Portsmouth a common sight in the skies was the Optica observation craft, used by the police. It was white, and droned overhead like an eggy mosquito... I asked the local police if I could borrow it for a bit... but I soon brought it back...

No works of art here

Next set - heading inland....going on a little tour...
Thanks for looking in!!!
