ALPHA's Lightning F2.A

Postby edzmen » Thu Jul 07, 2005 1:42 pm

Just downloaded Alphasim's English Electric Lightning pack for FS9.

You get the F2.A, F3 and F6 variants of the aircraft with multiple texture schemes per type. There is also a VC, authentic sounds and an AI version included.

The external visual model is top-notch, but for 10 quid I would have expected a far better quality VC.

The Lightning is a typical example for the statement "functionality over beauty".

I think that should read "functionality and beauty" - its one of the most charismatic fighter jets ever built...

Thats like saying the Avro Vulcan is ugly... ::)

All that petulant European air must be warping your sense of taste again! ;)

Yes but a well loved aircraft, due to be back in the air sometime in 2006.

Would that be one of the Lightning's at Bruntingthorpe then?

Sounds exciting - I thought the CAA limited them to fast-taxi only??

Nice pics; although they are of a 19 Sqn Lightning, surely?
