Mt Rushmore Sightseeing

Postby BiggBaddWolf » Tue Nov 30, 2004 9:10 pm

Had a couple tourists who wanted to see Mt Rushmore from the air, and get some pics, so I headed to my Piper Cherokee to get the plane ready  ;D
Image
And we're off to the runway....Ummmm sorry about your grass guys but if you would build a proper taxiway >:(
Image
First pass we get pretty close  :o
Image
And another close pass as we head back to the airport ;D
Image
On final to land...passengers are a bit nervous when they see the trees, and to tell ya the truth so am I  :o
Image
And back in the parking spot. I think the passengers are still almost in shock after that close call with the trees when I landed, But I assured them I was a professional, but that they shouldnt attempt that at home.... :D ;D

Hope ya enjoy the SS's of the Carenado Piper Cherokee 180.......Totally awesome plane IMHO  ;D

Trees? That runway has lots of room! Heck! It's even PAVED! Go Alaska, go to B&B and take a look. 700 ft. of GRAVEL runway. Landing a Navajo on that is VERY tricky, but not bad in a 172. The PAX get a bit nervous though.   ;D

Yep I know about those Alaskan gravel runways, I have been to several of them mostly in the default Piper Cub, and if you will notice the PAPI lights were all white on approach which meant I was a little too high, I might have hit the trees though had a been much lower.... :o

And yes Carenado does make excellent aircraft, anticipation was about to get the best of me waiting for them to release the Cherokee 180

Nice shots! I was disappointed myself when I flew by the default Mt. Rushmore in FS9. It looks way to small. Wish there was a replacement version.
