I have flown a couple of Chipmunks in RL, one in polished aluminum and one in the same RCAF livery as your picture. Your photos bring back memories of flying that lovely DH. The cockpits are quite small and cozy and visibility is superb, even in aerobatic flight. The only thing that takes getting used to is the little D.H. Gypsy Major engine. It only produces about 145hp so with two aboard when you lose altitude during a maneuver it takes forever to SLOWLY climb back to altitude. But, on a nice sunny flying day why be in a hurry. The controls feel crisp and effective and I would gladly own one [ as several of my friends did]. Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Nicely done Dave...

Did you know the earlier DCH-1s had partially wooden wings and fabric control surfaces.

The Fuel Gauge was in the wing.

Spent many a happy hour teaching in the DHC-1.

Used to get a laugh out of people looking at the engine and saying it was upside down and backwards...
