Las Vegas vacation - night flight

Postby OldAirmail » Fri Dec 20, 2013 11:28 pm

I've spent the last 4 hours flying around Orbx FTX England, Wales, and Scotland, so I needed a break.

A little while back Jetranger went to Las Vegas, so I thought that I would too.

This Las Vegas is not a separate download, it's a normal part of Orbx FTX Global.

Here are the pictures of my trip THROUGH Las Vegas. I shouldn't be in any trouble for flying so low. I used duct tape to change my planes numbers.

There are a number of FSX & FS2004 Aero Commander 520 to choose from.

Here's some info on the Aero Commander 520

I don't know how come most people don't like night flying.

I'M HAVING A GREAT TIME! :D

You do have to pick your places though.

And Orbx FTX Global makes it much better. As you can see in these pictures, FTX Global has added more, and much better, points of interest.

On top of that they have a nifty little utility that lets YOU pick the lights that'll show in the scenery.

(This is the selection I have in these pictures)

Night flying in standard FSX is very boring. I think that Orbx could even make money selling just the 3D Light Tweaker by it's self.

As to the plane in this night flight (well, it started at night :D ), it's from aussiex.org.

Specifically the OZX Grumman Goose HD Redux 1.20.

And don't forget the OZx Goose HD Expansion Pack 1.03.
(I just now downloaded it so whatever it does, isn't in these pictures)

On to the arrival in Vancouver!

On second thought, lets go to the airport.

Thanks guys.

One of the things that I enjoy on a real night flight are the city lights and the light of moving vehicles far below the plane

What's very strange is that Orbx has far more city lights displayed in the US than in the UK or Australia. I haven't checked other country/cities yet.

And this isn't a general Orbx FTX Global thing either.

Anyone know why the street light density should be lower outside the US?

I just bought the 3 Orbx UK parts (England, Scotland, & Wales) on sale. Get it if you can, it really is great, some parts look like areal photos.

They all exhibit the same thing, limited street lighting.
