Maderia X has been slightly updated so I re-downloaded it and enjoyed flying around it, as usual.

After changing the CFG file, the radial engine version is fun to fly.

I might be biased, but I do prefer that to the turbo version.

I suppose that if had to buy one or the other, I'd have to go for the turbo version though.

But with a simulator you can have your cake & eat it too. I'll keep flying that one.

Very nice shots OAM. Beautiful scenery! The last shot is my favorite. The clouds tucked into the valleys gives the shot some nice altitude appreciation.
A very big contrast to the scenery I was looking at this past weekend. We took our daughter to a music camp at the International Peace Gardens right on the border between North Dakota and Manitoba. I've never seen terrain so flat for so far. Just mile after mile, amazing! Not to complain though because I got to see a couple of crop dusters in action. These boys invented "pivot on a wingtip". I enjoyed watching them almost as much as any airshow aerobatics I've seen.

How true! Your first shot actually took me a few seconds to realize it was a sim and not the real thing. The cloud texture fooled me.

I'm not at all certain how it happened, but for several months I've been trying to get the clouds to look like I often see outside.

For the most part they are REX Soft Clouds. But I've been selecting some parts of REX Essential Plus Overdrive

As for placing real area weather in the sim, I'm using OpusFSI. And Opus, like Active Sky Next doesn't have cloud textures.


To confuse matters more, I downloaded Active Sky Next (used as a demo) and used that in place of Opus.

After trying ASN for a week I uninstalled it.

Opus had a minor update that I decided to install.

After that I started getting clouds like this.








As you can guess - I ain't changing nothing as far as the clouds right now.

Like the old saying goes "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Those clouds look great OAM.

To me, really good clouds enhance the sim flying experience tremendously.
