Microsoft isn't the only game in town when it comes to sims. This is IL-2: 1946 by Ubisoft.
A great and (usually) realistic World War II simulator covering the earliest years all the way to what-if confrontations in 1946.

That's why they're in the edits section.
Lots of time spent with the clone brush removing them.

I hope there is a way, and that I discover it soon because it kind of sucks doing it manually.

In the realism settings in the sim, there is a switch to turn off the various labels in game, including aircraft labels!

Yep, I think the settings are all pretty much the same throughout the series, no matter what edition you have. A quick way to find it is select the quick mission/flight where you can select your own plane and adversaries (don't have it in front of me right now for the exact name). Then near the bottom of the screen you should see a button to access the realism settings.
Your welcome. ;D

You can cycle through the taggs so you can just see either the make of plane, distance, or angle of attack.

Nice shot Shane. I was looking into getting the Complete Edition from Amazon but it is currently unavailable. They don't even list a price.

I got IL-2 1946, which is the game and all of it's expansions through Steam for $9.99(usd)
Got it through a 15minute download, and everything works just fine. :)
I would recommend Steam after using them. 8-)
