Nickname courtesy of my parents.

Like Krigl and a few others, I've been messing around with fractals using Apophysis.

I am confused by it, I have no idea how to work it... I just know that clicking things gets results.

Latest and greatest:

Image

I call it the cave. Haha. I did one sort of red/white/pink gradient, then a more blue one. I then use PDN to make the blue one fade out over the top of the other.

Image

I call it the Blackhole Fractal. I edited it in PDN - Just the curves and contrast

That is an edit, the original can be found Here

One which is currently in currently in the works (this is a quick test render, with edited after effect):

I put them all through Paint.net to get a slightly different effect. I will wait until I learn how to make complex things before I post anything else. Aha.

Cheers

#2 kinda looks like the Earth's gravitational field :D

Now personally I thought it looked like a twin exhaust of a fighter jet.

Blasted fractals. Make no sense and are completely uninterpretable.  >:(

Cool! The second one is very loopy... :)

This is a nice list of resources and also some custom flames and gradients. You might want to get the latest beta from sourceforge because the addons don't work with the vanilla version, apparently. The beta version does crash sometimes unfortunately, but the results are worth it I think.  :)

Yeh I got it just then. Google'd and found a load of flame packs etc.

Still confused with how it works, lol.

The first one looks like time-lapse photography of a lighning bug on acid. ;)

or is that just a lightning bug and I'm on acid. :-/

There we go. I think that's enough for a while. I'm sure all this messing with colours and patterns can't be safe haha.

Most are just messing around. The occasional tutorial. Previews are done at default resolution (around 500 wide) at 1000 quality. Final versions are done at 1024 and 10,000 quality. Usually taking up a good hour to finish. 3 oversamples.

When I do some photography editing next year I am planning on encorporating my new found cyber-love into that aswell. Umm.. Who said days gone by? My camera is 10.1 megapixel, so image resolutions of 3888 x 2592. Which is what I will be producing fractals at aswell. Probably 5 oversamples and easily 20,000-30,000 quality wise.

Suppose it's a safer hobby than playing with pepperspray  ;D

Next images along the lines of this will be my photo editing probably. Expect something that looks quite alright  ;)
