Trying to get that old time look to the shot. Didnt have a sepia tone filter in PS, but Im gonna find one somewhere! Got this in the meantime. Let me know what you think. BTW, using PS7

Nice bird but I think the grain is not very authentic and there's a certain glow around that wings that is a little too much for me.
Also I don't think the polished aluminum skin looks good in that edit; I like it better as a color photo.

Look at some original photo's of the H-1, dating from around 1935 to see how they look.

Cool shot though of a fantastic bird :D

Not to hot on the 'noise' but although ive yet to try it, its the problem of getting a colour shot to appear black and white without looking as if its from a colour shot, if you know what i mean!!!

Still, interesting result :)

The problem I have with inserting "grain" into Photoshop pictures is that it is too even to look like old photos.  There are some other effects in texture that might work better.  Usually, though, I am trying to improve pictures, not the other way around.   ;D

I tried this:  Under Filters I chose Artistic Effects and then Film Grain.  I had all choices set to 3 for this example.  I also changed the pic to Gray Scale before inserting the Film Grain.  Not perfect, for sure, but a starting point, anyway.   :-/
