I remember this one, M8. Looks good! I like how you handled the background.  :)

Sure wish you had an editing program with a pen tool and Brezier curves. It's almost impossible to get a smooth, round shape to the wheels without that! Man, you'd love playing with Brezier curves!  8-)

No AA! "More work for Daddy!"  ;D

Well, if you can run at a high enough res you don't need AA anyway, Immelman. It doesn't matter too much if you're doing composites as you have to get the plane out anyway. Editing screenies is a different story though. Then you're trying to spiff things up with the plane flattened against the background. That can get hairy!  :o

You should really try to get yourself an editing program with more capability, DF. Beg, borrow or steal, hee, hee! You know, you're into this big time so it would be worth while. Maybe find yourself an older woman with a lot of money.  ;) ;D :)

I have PS Elements 5.0.  :-/ I figured that would be sufficient.

Yeah, well, that was probably just a stupid statement on my part. Obviously your images aren't suffering!  :)

I had one of the "Elements" programs and wasn't happy with it BUT it was probably an old one without the features and quality of your version. I use the pen tool and Brezier curves quite often and from what I understand the "Elements" programs don't have that. However, there are a ton of different ways to skin the cat! I'm sure that you've have ways of reaching the same exact result via a different route.  ;)

You need to disregard half of what I say. The hard part is deciding which half to throw away and which half to keep as it's not always obvious, hee, hee!  ;D

Unfortunatley, Harry, i run FS at the highest resolution possible and still get some AA problems.  I get the same effect with the line tool though, so i don't mind.

Dang aliasing!  >:( ;D

Well, when you start editing it becomes obvious why it happens. It's a pretty good trick for a sim to make curves out of squares, hee, hee!  ;D

Are you "cutting", like for composites, or editing screens, Immelman?

Sometimes changing the camera angle a bit can help to reduce aliasing. Where it can really be a pain is with something with a lot of fine, detailed lines, like a bipe. I imagine that it could be tough with airliner passenger windows is some cases too.

I have AA on my vid card and crank it up as high as it will go but you still can't eliminate everything. Gotta do surgery one way or another, hee, hee!  ;)

I mostly do non-composites, but im working (slowly) on a composite right now.  I usually try to adjust the camera so there are lots of 45 degree angles wich look better to the eye, i find.  If i use all the techniques i have for aa i can pretty much solve my problems so the extra work doesn't bother me!

Just checked out your portfolio, M8! Some nice contest entries there!  :)

Kewl! The nice thing about composites is that you aren't stuck with sim backgrounds, which are often lacking in quality and not too interesting. The sky may be ok but buildings, etc., just don't cut it.  ;)

Yeah, that's true for most sims, DF. That's one of the nice things about composites. If you want something in the background which just doesn't look good in the sim, you can grab a nice photo of it and make a great looking image anyway!  ;)

If you make composites, when it's called for, all you really need out of the sim is a decent looking aircraft. If the aircraft or the skin isn't quite what you would like it to be, you can even go as far as you want to in transforming the aircraft!  ;D

I hope that you find the time to make and post more edits, M8. You make nice stuff. I'd like to see a lot more of it!  :)
