i wouldnt say the lighting is perfect... the sun is clearly behind the aircraft, yet their are highlights where shadows should be.
also has this image been SimV'd as in dipped in marmalade :P

nice idea don with the dramatic lighting, but it just doesnt quite fit if you get what i mean :)

It doesn't always have to be photoreal... This is clearly an artistic effort, so I don't see any reason for removing those highlights.   :)

Thanks a lot, M8's!  :)

Hee, heeeeee! NOW I understand where you are coming from, John!  ;)

If realism is your thing, then by all means go for it! However, realism is not my thing! Why not? Well, I was a professional photographer for a while and so if I want realism I'll get out my camera and make a photograph. I enjoy making these images precisely because I'm not limited by reality, as one often is when making a photo! Why be worried about the realism of the lighting when the color is so unrealistic, hee, hee! It's "Dundee's Orange Maramalade", btw! Yummy!  ;D

It's OK though, John. You can haul me off to the gallows anyway. I drop good!   :P ;) ;D

Thanks, Chris!  :)

Would that I had all of the answers!!! I really only know what I need to know to make the style of images I make. If you look through the archives of this forum, however, you'll see many different styles of beautiful images by many different members.

The great advantage of a community like this is that you can access the enormous collective pool of knowledge of all members. What I don't know, which is PLENTY, the other members will know. Also, there may be ten different ways of doing the same thing. Members can often offer a better, easier way of doing things.

Don't forget too that all of the various aspects of StudioV are there for you. That's a great resource of tools and people at your disposal and it's FREE!  :)
