Well...Layne, you seem to be dissatisfied with some of your edits. I have a few tips, from a veteran, me.

1. Practice, practice, practice.

2. Practice, practice, practice, practice.

3. Did I mention practice? You can't expect to learn PS in a night or two. It takes a LONG time.

4. You can't expect to create a masterpiece just by slapping on some filters. "Oh Marge, just slap some bumper stickers on it" - Homer Simspon. It may work while trying to restitch a Chanel dress, but it won't work on PS. Putting filters on in general, is still not a good idea. You have to work at it. Slowly. Adjust the colour and contrast every now and then. Try sharpening it a bit. Rework the lighting using doge/burn. Add weathering with a brownish brush on low opacity.

And the last tip, this is the most important one; now don't take this the wrong way, but sometimes...no matter HOW hard you try...editing may just not be your thing. Its like learning how to ride a horse or fly a plane. Sometimes, you are simply destined to be good at something. Other times, you just...aren't. Kinda like me and Gmax.

first of you need to learn how to edit properly, and not just slap filters on
