A squadron of 8 P-38 lightnings took off on the moring of August 11, 1942 on a ground attack raid on german airfields. The mission was succesful until a group of Stubnose FW-190's came from higher altitude and demolished 6 P-38's. As the dog fight continued 2 more FW-190's joined the fight but were taken out by the P-38's. The  remaining two P-38's, both with considerable damage continued home until  one of the remaining two was shot down by friendly fire. The remaining pilot flew on with grief now knowing that victory comes at a price.

Very nice edit. I'm not thaaat sure about the smoke effect but love the b/w and the clouds, and of course, the quote.
