Aside from the Beaver seemingly just taking off from the dock, that's a pretty cool shot. :)

I think its a great edit, but the angle of the Beaver takes away from the realism. It should coming from the right, where the water is less obstructed. Looks great though.  :o

Love it, hate it, be indifferent to it. However, it is just as it should be because I made it according to my personal vision of things. When you make an image, make it according to your vision of how it should be and I'll love it, hate it or be indifferent to it for the way in which it appears to my eye.

The idea that there is some objective "right" or "wrong", "better" or "worse" about someone's creative work is ridiculous. There is only "I like it" or "I don't like it". Having "rules" for one's self if fine. Attempting to measure the work of others by those "rules" makes no sense because they may be following their own set of "rules" in making their work!

For example, "realism" was mentioned but "realism" was not a consideration for me in making this image. I'm a good photographer and if I wanted "realism" I would simply have gotten out my camera and made a photograph of a plane. "Realism" may be important for you when you make an image but it isn't important for me. Different strokes for different folks!  8-)

OR hes just making a low pass over to see what the conditions are like and to check that his line isnt going to halve the length of the jetty....

fantastic edit IMO mate!!  8-)

James
;)

Ps. you got a high res in 1280x...?
My settings are 1280x800 but that might not co-incide with yours so the height isnt a problem  8-)

If it means anything, this is now the wallpaper on my desktop.  I happen to think it's one of the best screenies I've seen in a LONG time... ;)

BTW, the guy COULD be doing a go around after he took off....

Thank you very much, Gentlemen, one and all! Much appreciated!  :)

I don't have any personal issues at all with flyboy 28 or Double Farvel. As far as I'm concerned, they are both the finest of gentlemen. I merely sought to address the fact that there are many different paradigms for making and viewing images. My paradigm is not the norm. I look at all the various types of images as art and thus I am concerned purely with their graphical appeal rather than with reality or any conflicts with reality. Just my approach. I'm happy with it.  ;)

Sorry, James, I don't have it in a larger size. Since I'm only posting here, I make them 800 pixels or less wide right from the get go.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and support and I hope that flyboy 28 and Double Farvel know that I hold them both in high regard. No issues there, M8's!  :)
