ok this is my first edit so be nice.  Also, this is both an edit and a payware shot, so I am not sure if it is in the right place.

this was inspired by the Documentary series Dogfight on the History Channel
the aircraft is the Alphasim Phantom pack two with repaint from AVSIM by Russel R. Smith

Not bad.
Next time try zooming out a bit so we can see more of the aircraft.

the reason it is zoomed in so much is to hide some AI that are behind it and most definitely not period aircraft. (There was a Continental 767 behind me)

Agreed, granted there was a 767 behind ya, either just rid of him (clone stamp is your friend) or just take the picture about 100 feet later.

the main gear are just out of the frame, in the phantom they fold outwards towards the wing tanks

If that's the case why are the gear doors on the outside of the main legs?

of course they are otherwise the doors wouldn't close.  I didn't say they weren't I meant that they were too far out on the wings and out of the shot.

anyways here is another attempt, I changed the hue to more of a greenish to mimic that photo I posted above, and added some film grain and a heat blur.

Second Edit: Image removed to make room for new one If someone can tell me how to make thumbnails I can repost it.

Edit: I just compared the two again I might want to darken it a little.

here is the latest version about 60% darker than the previous

never mind this is just too dark I will give it another shot.

this one is about 10% darker than the original, no hue change, it has heat blur, and film grain.

I am still not happy with this

Since the forum was updated. The limit on modifying your own posts on the new forum appears to be 24 hours.

I found it on AVSIM

here is the latest version, just a slight dark overlay, heat blur, and light film grain.
Image
although now I am thinking that the darkening cancels out the film grain so I will give it another shot
here we go, and btw I just reused the thumb, the image is slightly different
