Just a play I had with one of my older edits, had a bit of a mess around...

I know its dark, its night ;) Not perfect by any means, was just having a go at tracers...lining them up is a real bit**!

Anyways, enjoy...

Very nice. The full moon is a great touch to keep the rest of the pic nice and bright. :)

Both are really beautiful shots mate  :)

...but there is something wrong with the way those tracers look...the way the guns sit in the Mustangs wings the tracers should be running more parallel with the wings or angled down towards the FW...not going up towards the moon.

And remember the Mustang had 6 .50 cals in the wings, that shot looks like she is only firing one per wing.  ;D

Tracers aren't bullets, are they? I'm a bit confused now. I thought tracers served as an instrument for the pilot, so he could see his line of fire...

I agree about the angle of the tracers though. If you pull a line trough the panes fuselage you can see in what direction they should go:

Just a minor thing... the rest of the edit is awesome!!  :o

To lay it down in simple terms...tracers are bullets that are either tipped a phosphorus coating or contain a magnesium phospate powder in the round that make the bullet path illuminate making it easier to make ajustments to your direction of fire.  Usually placed every 5th or 6th round in a belt of ammunition.;)

Thankyou all for your comments, appretiate it :) :) :)

Yeh the 'tracers'....god knows whats going on with them. I've actually spent ages and can't get them to look right. Thanks for your tips Pigeon, i tried your line... to no avail though sadly...;D

actually, typing this I think i know whats up. The way the bullets are drawn they look like they are being viewed from side on, actually you are looking at them from almost behind...would explain why they looked so wierd when i put them firing in their correct line...

With that im gonna go give it another quick go...

sorry for the quality btw guys, i was just treating this as a little practice and thought its looked kinda cool so posted...i'll make sure the next is a propa good one ;)

what I did was draw reference lines off of every straight line I could find that I knew was perfectly horizontal, then I would use those to line up the tracers
