Thanks! Yes, I'm still flying it but you know FlightSim.com these days... within hours your post is on Page 4...

Do a search for "philliptan" and you should see the posts... I'm now on my 72nd flight and I'm in Athens... how many did you miss? Ok... right now, the last 3 flights are on Page 2, 7 & 11...

Well, I'll be heading up the Eastern Bloc, and then through Scandanavia, back down through Germany and Holland, then the UK, Iceland, Greenland before I hit Canada and USA...

well, if you pass over Holland...don't forget to fly over Belgium...why do people always forget this little thingie on the map?  :)

nice edit too! couldn't find what you edited untill i saw the hazy air behind the nozzles...very realistic!

This is a slightly edited shot of a B744 from my VA, Atlantic Sun Airways...

I just checked out the Boeing site to see what the heck a 744 was and guess what ?  ???..........no such plane..... Are you re-naming a 747-400 a 744 ?

Yes, the official designation is a Boeing 747-400. Most people call it the B744. I'm surprised you don't know this.

Use Google, search for B744 and a lot of references to the aircraft will come up. Companies like Alitalia, British Airways, China Airlines, JAL, ANA, Polar Airways (just to name a few) all refer to it as a B744. Even the FAA refers to it as a B744.

I don't think I need to spell out in full what is common knowledge. All the guys above appreciated the post for what it is. A screenshot post.

Just so you'll be convinced that the people who oughta know what a B744 is, actually use the term B744... I present to you the departure schedules of Christchurch Airport in New Zealand...http://www.christchurch-airport.co.nz/FIDS/wkintlscheddep_2.htm

hey mark first of all ken has prooven on more than one occasion his knowledge of the aviation world. he has provided myself with answers that i could not find and he has on more than one occasion spent his time searching for this info if he had to. when it comes down to terms like 744, its not a common term used, and i havent seen it used regulary, and mainly over at airliners.net site where most of their forum users tend to act as we call them in the wrestling world smarks, or people who may know alot about the business but have actually little knowledge of the inside workings of the business, be it aviation wrestling or cow dung tossing.
before you go on a people who have earnt alot of respect from all of us here, maybe go register yourself and take a look at the info and help he has provided before making comments like that

I wouldn't say that calling a 747-400 a 744 is "not a common term." I can say I hear it very frequently, both in and out of the virtual and real aviation world.

I'm not saying that "Rifleman" doesn't know commercial aviation, all I'm saying is that I was a little surprised he wasn't familiar with the term, as it pops up frequently...

Agreed!!! I have been the recipient of these "guest" people who don't stop and think for a split second before babbling away...and its very irritating...
