I always liked "They were expendable", primarily because one of stars, Robert Montgomery, actually was a serving Naval officer.

Memphis Belle - a terrible movie

You're entitled to your opinion but I thought it was very good. It's one of my favorites.

It was pure Hollywood but at least there were a couple of real B17's.
